The Decline of Pain Out Maxx: A Review of What Went Wrong

Many online vendors and brick-and-mortar stores sell Pain Out Maxx products, but it’s only a shadow of what it once was. After a controversy a few years back, the brand lost its notoriety, and it barely remains in the market.

Pain Out Maxx isn’t a product I can recommend. The company making it has many suspicious behaviors that I’ll cover further below, and the product itself is flawed. Some batches work wonders, while others have low-quality kratom that produces almost no effect.

Furthermore, some people who have tried the products report adverse effects, like severe headaches and seeing strange materials in the kratom. A user even claimed they spat out a piece of metal in it.

The reports point toward a low-quality product from a careless vendor trying to make a buck, but are they true? Read below why you shouldn’t try Pain Out Maxx products and learn about vendors worthy of your trust.

Pain Out Maxx

1.5 / 5
Ranked 158 out of 190 vendors

Pain Out Maxx’s manufacturer isn’t available to the public, and the only data available is that their name up until 2019 was Nutrizone LLC. Assuming the vendor is the same nowadays, it gets a 1.5 out of 5-star rating.

The brand offers few products, and even though its packaging says the products go through lab testing, no results are available online.

I can’t mention the vendor’s policies toward customers since it has no online information and only sells wholesale to other kratom vendors. And let’s not even talk about the American Kratom Association (AKA), as Pain Out Maxx’s manufacturer doesn’t have their certification.

Considering the brand’s lack of transparency and worrying claims by some of its clients, I believe such a low rating is justified.

About the Company

NutriZone LLC used to work from Houston, Texas, moving large quantities of wholesale kratom to many smaller vendors. Its products quickly became famous thanks to its stylish design, accessible prices, and availability in several locations.

That all stopped in 2018 when the company recalled several lots of kratom per the FDA’s request since they posed a salmonella health risk. The vendor vanished after this incident, leaving no online traces behind.

At the same time, Google says NutriZone LLC is permanently closed. Perhaps the vendor changed names, or someone else took charge of its business.

Many online vendors and brick-and-mortar stores still offer Pain Out Maxx in their inventories.

There’s another company named Maxx Out Kratom, but we can’t confirm if these companies are linked or not.

Is Pain Out Maxx Legit?

Pain Out Maxx isn’t a scam, but I wouldn’t call it a trustworthy brand.

You can get Pain Out Maxx kratom from many stores and would likely enjoy it. The quality varies as sometimes you’ll get a decent product from a fresh batch while other times you’ll end up with a low-quality powder that gives you no effects.

But the company behind Pain Out Maxx isn’t worth your trust. They have a reputation for moving vast amounts of low-quality kratom and selling it to whomever they can. Moreover, they have a history of recalling several batches of kratom because of salmonella contamination.

Even nowadays, there are reports of Pain Out Maxx kratom inducing adverse side effects or even having pieces of metal inside the packaging. The product assures you it went through lab testing, but even the most basic lab tests would find these issues.

This indicates the company behind Pain Out Maxx lies about the tests or doesn’t care to solve the problems these tests show.

Pain Out Maxx Product Reviews

Pain Out Maxx products come in two forms: kratom powder and capsules. These goods are available throughout the country in physical and online stores, which makes the pricing vary wildly. Usually, however, their prices are lower than average.

Product NameOur RatingPrice Range
Kratom Leaf Powder2/5$9–$35
Kratom Capsules2/5$10–$50

1. Kratom Leaf Powder

Kratom leaf powder is the most common form of kratom. The product is 100% natural and comes from drying and crushing kratom leaves to dust. You can take it with any non-alcoholic drink, but I recommend you use a sweet beverage to counteract kratom’s naturally bitter taste.

Pain Out Maxx Green Maeng Da Powder

The Maeng Da strain is a classic for good reasons. This strain is consistent and potent, even from brands I can’t fully trust, like Pain Out Maxx. The green-veined variety works best as an energy and productivity booster that keeps you attentive throughout the day.

Average price range from multiple vendors:

  • 40 grams for $9–$12
  • 100 grams for $15–$20
  • 160 grams for $22–$25

Pain Out Maxx Red Maeng Da Powder

This strain is the best at fulfilling the promise of the brand’s name. Thanks to its high levels of 7-hydroxymitragynine, Red Maeng Da has potent sedative effects [1]. Depending on the dose, it can help you sleep, calm chronic pain, and soothe your anxiety.

Average price range from multiple vendors:

  • 40 grams for $10–$13
  • 100 grams for $15–$18
  • 160 grams for $20–$25

Pain Out Maxx White Maeng Da Powder

If the green-veined variety isn’t strong enough for you, I recommend you try White Maeng Da. It has the highest mitragynine count of the three, making it a powerful energizer. You’ll improve your productivity and boost your mood with a dose at the start of the day [2].

Average price range from multiple vendors:

  • 40 grams for $8–$12
  • 100 grams for $14–$18
  • 160 grams for $20–$24

Pain Out Maxx Train Wreck Powder

This strain is popular because of its potency, though it isn’t a strain per se. Trainwreck kratom is a blend of different colors of kratom, and its effect changes depending on the vendor. Usually, it’s very potent, as vendors mix in the strongest kratom they have.

This malleability doesn’t work with brands of inconsistent quality, like POM. The trainwreck blend will sometimes be potent, and sometimes it’ll barely do any effect. At its best, this product will energize better than green strains could without adding the anxiety of white ones.

Average price range from multiple vendors:

  • 40 grams for $10–$13
  • 100 grams for $15–$20
  • 160 grams for $21–$25

2. Kratom Capsules

If you find leaf powder unpalatable, either because of its gritty texture or bitter flavor, then kratom capsules are the solution for you. This product is leaf powder kratom encased inside a gelatin shell, allowing you to take it as you would any pill.

This brand offers the three Maeng Da colors in capsule form. It also offers Trainwreck, its most demanded strain, this way. Of course, these strains share the exact same effects as their powdered versions.

All of the strains offered in capsule form by this brand are similarly priced. Still, the final cost will largely depend on the kratom supplier you buy these products from.

Average price range from multiple vendors:

  • 40 capsules of either strain for $8–$11
  • 100 capsules of either strain for $18–$21
  • 160 capsules of either strain for $22–$25
  • 280 capsules of either strain for $32–$35

What You Can Expect to Pay

Pain Out Maxx is among the cheapest kratom brands available.

You can’t buy Pain Out Maxx directly from the vendor, as it only sells wholesale to other vendors. Still, getting this brand from a third-party vendor won’t set you back. I don’t count this as a positive since the pricing reflects the quality of this brand.

Interestingly, Pain Out Maxx doesn’t stand out in terms of pricing compared to more reputable, AKA-certified brands.

While Pain Out Maxx’s products are on the cheaper side of the kratom pricing spectrum, you are better off paying barely anything more knowing you’re getting lab-tested, high-quality products. You’d be missing out on higher-quality products for roughly the same price.

Accepted Payment Options

You can’t purchase Pain Out Maxx directly from the manufacturer, and the payment options will be from the third-party store of your choosing. The online store with the largest Pain Out Maxx selection is Kratom Point, which accepts Visa and MasterCard credit cards.

What Other Customers Say About This Brand

The kratom community has strong thoughts about Pain Out Maxx. While there are mixed reviews, one Reddit user calls them reckless by referring to pain relief in its name, mentioning how a brand so careless with marketing is probably sloppy with its products too. This is in reference to the FDA’s rules on making medical claims. Technically, the name could be claiming to remove pain, which is not allowed.

Their prediction rings true, as two commenters in this thread say this brand made them ill after taking it. Another commenter says they noticed metal pieces in the kratom when they took it.

Shipping & Returns

The only way to buy Pain Out Maxx is through other vendors, as the manufacturer doesn’t sell to the public. The vendor Kratom Point has the largest collection of these products, and it offers free shipping on purchases above $40 to contiguous states where kratom is legal.

The same vendor offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, but only for wrong orders or damaged products.

Best Alternative Kratom Vendors

As I mentioned throughout the article, there is not much information online about Pain Out Maxx’s manufacturer. Moreover, you’re better off choosing other brands. Here are the top three vendors in the kratom market, all AKA-certified and providing high-quality kratom.

1. Kona Kratom

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $45.00 — $115.00
Verified Vendor

Kona Kratom

4.95 / 5
Ranked 1 out of 190 vendors

This is the gold standard of kratom vendors, in my opinion. Kona Kratom offers a large selection of strains in capsule and powder form, as well as kratom extracts. Its prices are accessible; the kratom is potent and, more importantly, safe.

Every batch is as potent as the previous one because this vendor tests them in third-party labs. These tests not only check the kratom’s safety but also its alkaloid levels. Since alkaloids give kratom its effects, maintaining consistent levels will ensure a consistent experience [3].

Pros:

  • Accessible prices
  • Consistent quality
  • Many products available
  • Third-party lab testing
  • Free shipping on orders above $29.99
  • AKA-certified

Cons:

  • Limited payment options

2. Star Kratom

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $35 — $95
Verified Vendor

Star Kratom

4.8 / 5
Ranked 3 out of 190 vendors

There aren’t many vendors with a certification from the American Kratom Association, as this is the highest mark a kratom vendor can get. The fact that Star Kratom is AKA-certified while being new to this market should tell you how fast it’s growing.

This vendor is already at a place where many vendors are trying to get. It sells over twenty kratom strains, has one of the best shipping practices in the market, and sells kratom in bulk.

Pros:

  • Sells in bulk
  • Fast & free shipping
  • Great customer support
  • Solid return policy
  • AKA-certified

Cons:

  • Only sells kratom in powder and capsule form

3. VIP Kratom

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $40.00 — $125.00
Verified Vendor

VIP Kratom

4.70 / 5
Ranked 8 out of 190 vendors

If you’re looking for the highest quality kratom available on the market, look no further. VIP Kratom sells only the best products they can find and has returned entire kratom batches to Asia when they didn’t meet their quality standards.

Furthermore, it isn’t content with offering the most potent natural kratom available. VIP Kratom has very friendly customer policies, such as a 30-day money-back guarantee and a 90-day exchange guarantee. It also sells in bulk to allow you to save money on shipping.

Pros:

  • Potent kratom
  • Premium strains
  • Friendly return policies
  • Sells in bulk
  • Third-party lab testing
  • AKA-certified

Cons:

  • More expensive than the competition

Final Thoughts: Avoid This Brand

With kratom’s growing popularity, many new vendors and products are walking the line of mediocrity. Pain Out Maxx doesn’t even get close to their level. This brand offers low-quality products of dubious origin, and its manufacturer had a salmonella incident in the past.

The products go through testing, according to the packaging, but I find that hard to believe with the reports of people getting sick and the ones of strange materials in the kratom. Also, this brand’s transparency is non-existent, as you can’t even get to know its manufacturer in-depth.

The only positive thing I can mention is its accessible pricing, but I don’t count it as a win. You get what you pay for when you buy Pain Out Maxx. Do yourself a favor and purchase pure kratom from reputable vendors like Kona Kratom, VIP Kratom, and Star Kratom.
