Eden’s Ethos was a somewhat popular kratom brand based in California. It appears to have been established sometime in the early 2010s and shut down sometime around 2017. The company still has not resurfaced, and at this point, it doesn’t look like it is going to.

In this guide, we’ll discuss what we believe happened to Eden’s Ethos, why it wasn’t a good source for kratom in the first place, and which vendors we’d recommend instead. We’ll include brief reviews of these alternative vendors:

About the Company

Eden’s Ethos was a California-based company that offered kratom products exclusively online. The company may have been established to capitalize on the surge in popularity of the Mitragyna speciosa plant, as it provided average products at above-average prices. It also opened its doors when kratom started gaining real popularity in the United States.

Eden’s Ethos shut down unexpectedly in 2017, which is, unfortunately, a common fate that many online kratom companies meet.

Currently, the company’s website no longer exists, and the brand is no longer available to purchase from any online, third-party retailers.

Eden’s Ethos Product Reviews

When Eden’s Ethos was in business, it sold kratom powders, kratom capsules, kratom tinctures, and kratom extract powders, the last two of which are uncommon. These products are no longer available, but we’ll look at the options Eden’s Ethos did offer when it was in business.

Kratom Powder

Kratom powder is just crushed-up leaves from the Mitragyna speciosa tree. The powder is usually mixed with water or fruit juice to mask the bitter and unpleasant taste. Kratom powder is more affordable than any other form of kratom, but some users still choose capsules or tinctures because they help avoid the flavor.

Below is a list of the strains Eden’s Ethos used to offer in powder form:

  • Green Riau Kratom Powder
  • Maeng Da Kratom Powder Blend
  • Red Bentuangie Kratom Powder
  • Yellow Sunda Kratom Powder

Kratom Capsules

Kratom capsules contain a pre-measured dose of kratom powder. They’re more expensive than buying powder, but they’re more convenient to consume and don’t have the bitter taste that powder does. Kratom capsules make dosing less precise, as you can only take the powder in increments of between 500 mg and 2 g in most cases.

Eden’s Ethos only offered a Maeng Da blend in capsule form.

Kratom Tinctures

Kratom tinctures are super-concentrated liquids that contain a high volume of kratom alkaloids, namely mitragynine, and 7-hydroxymitragynine. Tinctures are good for users with a high tolerance, but they’re challenging to get precise doses with and often taste unpleasant. Eden’s Ethos only offered a single tincture with no strain designation.

Kratom Extract Powders

Kratom extracts are super-concentrated powders with more alkaloids per gram than standard powder. Eden’s Ethos only offered a single extract powder: Ultra Enhanced Indo Extract Powder. This was a popular option from the company, although it was more expensive than standard powder.

What Happened to Eden’s Ethos?

Eden’s Ethos went out of business sometime in 2017 and has not reopened. Although it’s not entirely clear what precipitated the company’s closing, it might have had something to do with the kratom bans in the company’s home state.

In 2016 —just a year before Eden’s Ethos went out of business —a kratom ban was instituted in San Diego. Around the same time, the City of Oceanside banned kratom as well. It’s possible that the owners of Eden’s Ethos saw that kratom was becoming more regulated and got out of the industry before facing potential legal issues.

Of course, this is unconfirmed since the company never posted any information about why it closed. However, these legality issues possibly had something to do with the company going under, especially given the timing.

Best Alternative Kratom Vendors

Since Eden’s Ethos no longer offers kratom products for sale, you’ll need to look elsewhere for your kratom. We strongly recommend considering our top online vendors: VIP Kratom, Star Kratom, and Kona Kratom. We’ll explain why we suggest these vendors in the sections below.

1. VIP Kratom

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $40.00 — $125.00
Verified Vendor

VIP Kratom

4.85 / 5
Ranked 4 out of 190 vendors

VIP Kratom tops our list of the best and most reliable vendors primarily because it provides high-quality products and is transparent about what’s inside them. The company has above-average pricing, but this is justified because of the third-party lab results available for every product, the satisfaction guarantee, and the certification from the American Kratom Association (AKA) that the company maintains.

VIP Kratom is an outstanding source of premium kratom products with above-average potency and lab testing that support the price you’ll pay for quality.

Pros:

  • Outstanding quality
  • Lab results available for all products
  • Satisfaction guarantee
  • AKA-certified
  • Great selection

Cons:

  • On the expensive side

2. Star Kratom

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $35 — $95
Verified Vendor

Star Kratom

4.9 / 5
Ranked 2 out of 190 vendors

Star Kratom is an excellent alternative to VIP if you’re looking for high-quality kratom for lower prices. While the potency isn’t as appealing as VIP’s, all products are backed by a satisfaction guarantee. The company’s AKA certification verifies the quality and the lab results available for each product.

The strain selection leaves a bit to be desired, but the company stocks white, green, and red kratom strains, which are excellent.

Pros:

  • High-quality products
  • Satisfaction guarantee
  • AKA-certified company
  • Lab results available for all products
  • Super fast 1-2-day shipping

Cons:

  • Strain selection is limited

3. Kona Kratom

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $45.00 — $115.00
Verified Vendor

Kona Kratom

4.95 / 5
Ranked 1 out of 190 vendors

Kona Kratom is an outstanding alternative to Eden’s Ethos, not only because the quality is superior but also because the prices are more affordable. Kona provides lab results for each powder and capsule it sells, and it also guarantees that you’ll be satisfied with its products, or it will send your money back.

Kona has a good selection of strains available to choose from. Although its shipping times are slower than they could be, the company’s products are potent, safe, and pure, which says a lot about a largely unregulated product.

Pros:

  • High-quality product
  • Third-party lab results available
  • Relatively affordable
  • Satisfaction guarantee
  • AKA-certified

Cons:

  • Shipping times can be a bit slow

Final Thoughts: Find Better Kratom Elsewhere

Eden’s Ethos is no longer in business, but even when it was, there were a few red flags that should preclude you from buying from the company. These include a lack of third-party lab testing, no online customer reviews regarding potency, and no AKA certification.

Instead, we strongly recommend checking out VIP Kratom, Star Kratom, and Kona Kratom. These three companies are much more transparent about the products they offer. They provide lab testing for all offerings, back each purchase with a satisfaction guarantee, and only sell the highest-quality kratom available on the market.
