Kratom, or Mitragyna speciosa, is a tree native to Southeast Asia and famous for its effects.

People in the region chew on its leaves to gain energy while working or to relieve stress and pain. Millions now use it worldwide because of those benefits, but often in the form of powder since most of us don’t have access to fresh leaves.

The taste of kratom powder is too bitter for most people, so many manufacturers have devised novel ways to consume it. Kratom capsules are the most popular, but there also are kratom edibles, drink mixes, or shots. Today, we’ll shine the spotlight on extract tablets.

What Are Kratom Extract Tablets?

Kratom extract tablets are the fusion of two other kratom products, tablets and extracts. Extracts are a concentrated product, so the compounds that give kratom its effects are at higher levels. These are not meant for beginners due to their potency.

Tablets are a convenient way to take kratom. Since kratom powder tastes bad and is inconvenient to transport, tablets appeared to offer a solution. They’re simply regular powder packed tightly with a binding agent.

Kratom extract tablets are both of these products put together. They’re convenient tablets that you can carry around and take without measuring. They’re also potent extracts that give you strong effects in low doses.

What’s the Difference Between Tablets & Capsules?

Kratom capsules and tablets are similar products that solve the same issues — taste and portability.

Capsules contain kratom powder within a flavorless gelatin shell, making them easier to take. However, you need to take a lot if you’re looking for a higher dose, and the shells could upset your stomach in that quantity.

On the other hand, tablets are pure kratom powder densely pressed with a binding agent, and the flavor can be unpalatable. You can cut them for lower doses, and taking many won’t upset your stomach any differently than taking regular kratom powder.

Kratom extract tablets are more potent than capsules or regular tablets, and you need to know how to use them.

How to Use Kratom Extract Tablets

In short, you take an extract tablet by swallowing it with some water or other drink. However, it’s more in-depth than that, obviously, or we wouldn’t need to write this article.

First, you need to know what effect you want. Low doses provide energy, focus, and euphoria, while larger amounts are sedating and good for relieving pain and anxiety.

Then, you need to adapt your regular kratom dose — this handy guide can help — to the extract equivalent.

Kratom powder has around 1.5% mitragynine in it. This compound is the alkaloid responsible for the herb’s energizing effects. A tablet with 75 mg of mitragynine is equivalent to approximately 5 grams of kratom powder.

Some extract tablets won’t tell you the amount of mitragynine inside, but their name will be something like “50x extract.” That naming convention refers to the concentration level. A milligram of 50x extract is equivalent to fifty milligrams of kratom powder.

We advise you to get full-spectrum extracts whenever possible. They are less potent than mitragynine-only extracts but provide the full range of kratom benefits.

Do Kratom Extracts Cause Tolerance?

You can build up a tolerance to any kind of kratom, but kratom extracts will build it up quicker.

Kratom affects many receptors, causing them to become active, and you feel the effects. If you take this herb too often, your body will seek balance by dialing down activity in these receptors. When this happens, you will need higher doses to get similar effects.

This process is what building tolerance means. If you take potent products like kratom extracts too often or without adjusting the dosing, tolerance will build up faster. If you’re not careful, this could lead to dependency or addiction.

The best way to avoid building tolerance is to take time away from kratom every week and month.

Best Kratom Vendors Selling Extract Tablets

There are many kratom vendors around, but not all offer good quality. Luckily, principled vendors have certain traits that are easy to identify, like being certified by the American Kratom Association (AKA) and performing lab testing.

This small family business has made strides in the kratom industry since its start in 2016. Christopher’s Organic Botanicals offers a decent selection of strains in all the popular forms of kratom. They’re AKA-certified and perform third-party lab testing on every batch.

Since they’re a small vendor who can’t buy kratom by the ton, their prices are somewhat higher. They counteract this by offering kratom in bulk and free shipping on orders above $20.00.

3. Laughing Lion Herbs

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $10.00 — $120.00
Verified Vendor

Laughing Lion Herbs

Since its start in 2015, Laughing Lion Herbs has grown from a single-man operation to a company of many people working in Colorado Springs. Their handling of kratom is top-notch, minimizing human contact and storing it in dry facilities.

The owner’s previous career in programming helps with their website. You can search kratom by color, effect, or potency. It’s also the only vendor we know with a working mobile app.

4. Happy Hippo

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $7.00 — $35.00
Verified Vendor

Happy Hippo

4.5 / 5
Ranked 9 out of 190 vendors

While their website may look silly, Happy Hippo takes their kratom seriously. Through testing, this vendor ensures their kratom is pure and high-quality. They’re part of the AKA’s GMP program, but not only to prove their products’ quality.

They support the AKA for its commitment to protecting kratom’s reputation. They are regular donors, screen documentaries, and recently hired a public relations firm. By purchasing from Happy Hippo, you help kratom remain legal.

5. Super Speciosa

Aka GMP Certified yes
Pricing $9.99 — $59.99
Verified Vendor

Super Speciosa

4.5 / 5
Ranked 15 out of 190 vendors

Super Speciosa offers kratom of proven quality. They improved their processes to minimize human contamination. This vendor cares about the customer’s experience and, because of it, has developed a loyal following.

One of the most important things this vendor does is third-party lab testing. Kratom needs testing for contaminants like heavy metals. And third-party laboratories must be the ones testing it, as they are unbiased with the product.

Summary: Kratom Extract Tablets

Kratom extract tablets are a potent and convenient form of kratom. They have a high concentration of alkaloids, like extracts, and are easy to transport, like capsules. As they’re stronger than regular kratom, you’ll need to adjust the dose to avoid building tolerance.

Since tablets are more processed than capsules or powder, their quality will depend on the vendor. Reliable vendors like Kona Kratom, VIP Kratom, or Star Kratom are your best bet if you want powder or capsules. Of those three, only the first offers extract tablets for now.
