Red kratom strains tend to deliver potent pain relief, anxiety relief, and sedation, especially in larger doses, and this fermented Red Bali kratom from Otie’s is no exception.

Black Bali is kratom that’s fermented and baked until the leaves are black, giving the strain unique characteristics.

This is a specialty of theirs, and you can’t buy it as part of a split kilo, unfortunately. I finally caved in and bought a small amount — something Otie’s strongly encourages if you’re not used to fermented strains.

Think of ashes from a campfire and you’ll have an idea of what this strain smells and tastes like. I almost couldn’t get past the smokey smell, but I’m glad I did. I took almost half of my usual dose and it kicked in pretty hard, then mellowed out after a bit. It was very energizing at first, and then settled into a calmer stimulation, where I felt relaxed but focused.

It’s worth the experience, just prepare yourself for the taste.

I love this one because it always gives a good balance of effects, and almost seems to meet your specific needs at the time. I mostly use it when I’m stressed but need to get things done — it doesn’t cause anxiety and helps me relax enough to focus while still giving that boost of motivation.
