Green Leaf Kratom Review: Does the Bad Outweigh the Good?

While the inventory is impressive, the quality of the products offered by Green Leaf Kratom is suspect and likely not up to par with what you’ll find from more reputable and premium brands.

The company states that its products are sourced ethically and only from reputable kratom farms in Southeast Asia, but many factors cause us to question these claims. Below, you’ll find an in-depth review of Green Leaf Kratom, including a review of the company as a whole, its mission statement, most popular products, available strains, and much more.

Green Leaf Kratom

2 / 5
Ranked 149 out of 190 vendors

Due to misleading information and no mention of the kratom undergoing third-party lab tests, Green Leaf doesn’t rank well.

About the Company

Green Leaf Kratom is owned by parent company, Nine2Five LLC. This parent company also owns Kratom-K, a nearly identical kratom company with similar shortcomings. Nine2Five LLC is owned by Sebastian Guthery, and it’s unclear if he has any employees for either company.

Mr. Guthery started his work in the kratom industry in 2011 and previously had worked for a hemp company and a bulk kratom website. He also owns a CBD company, Hempologica, which he started in 2015.

This type of diversity isn’t necessarily a red flag by itself, but it does fly in the face of claims on Green Leaf’s website that the company and team is committed to the Green Leaf project, that it “isn’t a side project,” and that it doesn’t dilute its product base by offering other botanicals. This immediately calls into question the legitimacy of Green Leaf Kratom and should serve as a red flag to any customer who buys into the company’s backstory.

Green Leaf Kratom’s mission is, unsurprisingly, lacking substance. The website states that it’s committed to quality and helping people discover the many benefits of kratom, a story told by countless kratom companies attempting to capitalize on the recent surge in popularity.

Pros
  • Good selection
  • Powders and capsules available
Cons
  • No mention of third-party testing
  • Expensive
  • Poor customer service
  • Misrepresentation of company’s intent and legitimacy
  • Not AKA certified

Green Leaf Kratom Product Reviews

Green Leaf Kratom only sells kratom products. More specifically, it offers powders and capsules in a large variety of strains, including red-vein, white-vein, and green-vein options.

1. Kratom Leaf Powder

Kratom powder is made from ground-up, dried leaves from the Mitragyna speciosa tree. It’s the most popular way to consume kratom, with some users ingesting it with liquids and others using it to make tea.

Kratom powder allows for precision dosing and has a long shelf life.

Green Leaf Kratom Green Maeng Da Kratom

Maeng Da kratom is often regarded as one of the most potent strains available. Although there is no effects profile listed on Green Leaf’s product page, this strain is often used as a nicely balanced kratom, offering mild stimulation at lower doses and moderate sedation and pain relief in larger quantities.

The Green Maeng Da kratom from Green Leaf comes in five sizes ranging from 50 grams up to 1,000 grams.

Price: $11.99 for 50 grams, $22.99 for 100 grams, $52.99 for 250 grams, $95.99 for 500 grams, or $169.99 for 1,000 grams/1 kilogram

Green Leaf Kratom Red Horned Borneo Kratom

Horned kratom comes from trees with an irregular horned leaf shape.

It’s typically said to have higher alkaloid concentrations, although the potency of Green Leaf’s Red Horned kratom is unspecified and not backed up by third-party lab testing.

Without these results, you won’t be able to confirm potency or purity, although the product page states that this is 100% pure kratom. No effect profile is mentioned on Green Leaf’s site, but this strain is usually used for intense pain relief, anxiety relief, and to treat insomnia.

Price: $11.99 for 50 grams, $22.99 for 100 grams, $52.99 for 250 grams, $95.99 for 500 grams, or $169.99 for 1,000 grams/1 kilogram

Green Leaf Kratom White Maeng Da Kratom

Just like the green variety mentioned above, White Maeng Da kratom is believed to have a high alkaloid content. Most users take it for intense stimulation and reported nootropic-like effects.

Green Leaf doesn’t provide the expected effects of its White Maeng Da, and the website’s claims that it is ethically sourced from reputable farms aren’t substantiated anywhere. This kratom is quite costly, especially since it isn’t backed by third-party lab results.

Price: $11.99 for 50 grams, $22.99 for 100 grams, $52.99 for 250 grams, $95.99 for 500 grams, or $169.99 for 1,000 grams/1 kilogram

Other Strains Offered By Green Leaf Kratom

Green Leaf Kratom does a better job than many kratom vendors of maintaining an impressive number of strains available at all times.

All of the powders are expensive, following the same pricing model: $11.99 for 50 grams, $22.99 for 100 grams, $52.99 for 250 grams, $95.99 for 500 grams, or $169.99 for 1,000 grams.

Green Leaf Kratom Offers the Following Kratom Powders:

2. Kratom Capsules

Another way to take kratom powder is via kratom gel capsules. These caps contain kratom powder and help avoid the user having to deal with the unpleasant flavor of kratom when dosing.

However, they’re typically more costly and make it harder to get a precise dose.

Green Leaf Kratom Green Maeng Da Kratom Capsules

Given the popularity of the Green Maeng Da kratom strain, it’s no surprise that these capsules are Green Leaf Kratom’s top seller. These capsules promise a balanced effect and come with 0.5 grams of kratom powder each.

Most users will find that these go quickly, especially if they take more than 2-3 grams a day.

Despite there not being any third-party lab test results for them, these capsules are relatively expensive. They’re sold by the gram rather than by the capsule, allowing an easy price comparison with the powdered version.

Price: $25.99 for 50 grams, $49.99 for 100 grams, $89.99 for 250 grams, $149.99 for 500 grams, or $199.99 for 1,000 grams/1 kilogram

Green Leaf Kratom Red Bali Kratom Capsules

The Red Bali strain is known for its potency, and most users take it for its sedative effects to treat insomnia or its analgesic properties to relieve pain. These capsules from Green Leaf make taking the kratom easy and help avoid the bitter taste, although they are quite expensive. Each capsule comes with 0.5 grams of powder, so you’ll likely need to restock more frequently than you would with kratom powder.

Price: $25.99 for 50 grams, $49.99 for 100 grams, $89.99 for 250 grams, $149.99 for 500 grams, or $199.99 for 1,000 grams/1 kilogram

Green Leaf Kratom White Maeng Da Kratom Capsules

The White Maeng Da capsules from Green Leaf are a popular buy for their potent stimulative effects and nootropic benefits. Many users find that this strain helps them focus and concentrate. These capsules are costly, but they’re easy to store and take. Each capsule contains 0.5 grams of kratom powder. There are no third-party lab tests available for these, so you will be unable to verify the potency or purity.

Other Capsules Offered By Green Leaf Kratom

Green Leaf offers most of the strains it sells in powder form in capsules as well. All capsules are priced similarly: $25.99 for 50 grams, $49.99 for 100 grams, $89.99 for 250 grams, $149.99 for 500 grams, or $199.99 for 1,000 grams/1 kilogram.

Is Green Leaf Kratom Legit?

There are two kinds of companies most kratom users should stay away from; those that are looking to take your money and send nothing in return and those that are unreliable and potentially unsafe. While Green Leaf Kratom doesn’t appear to be a total scam company, it does appear to sell low-quality and potentially dangerous kratom at high prices to capitalize on the herb’s recent popularity.

Green Leaf Kratom isn’t certified by the American Kratom Association, and it doesn’t post third-party lab results on its site for customers to confirm the potency and purity of its products. Not only that but there is no mention on the site that any of the products are actually tested. As such, it’s unclear if the kratom from Green Leaf is contaminated with chemicals, pesticides, or heavy metals, and there’s no way of telling if it’s potent and will deliver the desired effects.

Green Leaf’s site states that it can “specialize” in kratom because it doesn’t focus on any other botanicals, and it specifically states that Green Leaf isn’t a “side project” or “hobby.” Unfortunately, it is owned by a parent company that also owns a duplicate kratom company called Kratom-K and a CBD company, so these claims are unfounded and misleading.

Finally, there are many reviews from individuals online for Green Leaf Kratom, most of which are negative and complain about the low quality and potency of the kratom powders. There are some commercial reviews that are positive, but it seems likely that these were paid for by the company or the parent company, as they are far from matching the reviews from actual users.

As such, it’s strongly recommended to steer clear of Green Leaf Kratom. Most users will have no problem avoiding this company, as its prices are higher than most anyway.

What You Can Expect To Pay

Despite the low quality of the kratom from Green Leaf and the lack of third-party testing done on the products, the prices are higher than you’ll find from most competitors.

The powders come in five sizes:

  • 50 grams for $11.99
  • 100 grams for $22.99
  • 250 grams for $52.99
  • 500 grams for $95.99
  • 1,000 grams/1 kilogram for $169.99

The capsules are also sold by weight and are significantly more expensive than the powders:

  • 50 grams for $25.99
  • 100 grams for $49.99
  • 250 grams for $89.99
  • 500 grams for $149.99
  • 1,000 grams/1 kilogram for $199.99

Green Leaf Kratom offers slight discounts on larger orders, but there are no bulk prices or significant savings available.

Accepted Payment Options

Green Leaf Kratom accepts some major credit cards — including Visa and MasterCard — but doesn’t take Discover or American Express.

You can also choose to pay with ACH or certified money order, although some negative reviews online state that direct money order didn’t work, and a credit card was eventually required to complete the purchase.

What Other Customers Say About This Brand

Green Leaf Kratom has some positive reviews on other kratom vendor websites, but given that most reviews from individual customers are negative, it’s likely that these were paid for by the company itself.

Reviews on third-party sites like Reddit.com, where many kratom users turn for advice and honest reviews, are entirely negative. Most state that the kratom they received from Green Leaf was far from being potent enough to take their normal dose, and given the high prices, they felt it was a waste of money.

One user, in particular, noted that they compared Green Leaf’s Maeng Da kratom with the same strain from another more reputable company, and the difference was night and day. The kratom from Green Leaf provided almost no effects, while the other kratom was powerful at the same dose.

Additionally, some of the negative reviews note that the shipping times are longer than expected and longer than stated on the website. Some people never received tracking information and then attempted to contact customer service to no avail.

Shipping & Returns

Green Leaf Kratom’s website states that it won’t ship to any cities or states where kratom is illegal, and the checkout will not allow you to put in an address located in these areas. This is promising and at least shows that the company is unwilling to blatantly break the law.

The website notes that all orders are processed and shipped out within 24 hours via USPS, although many negative reviews have mentioned significant delays.

Returns are accepted but only for items that have not been opened or used. This means that Green Leaf doesn’t guarantee your satisfaction with its product, and you are unable to test the product to see if it works for you before deciding to keep or return it. Unfortunately, many reviews online note that the potency just isn’t there, so you might be stuck with kratom that’s ineffective.

It should also be noted that some negative reviews have stated that the company’s customer service is unresponsive, so you might struggle to get a refund even for unopened products that you return.

If you do return an unopened package, you will be responsible for the shipping costs, which are standard in the industry.

Final Thoughts: Weak & Expensive Kratom at Best, Unsafe at Worst

Green Leaf Kratom is owned by Nine2Five LLC, a parent company that also owns Kratom-K and a CBD company. Green Leaf’s website states that it’s committed to kratom as a single botanical and that the company isn’t a side project, which is untrue based on some research. It seems clear that these statements on the website aim to mislead customers.

Green Leaf provides a wide range of strains available in both powders and capsules, but all of them are severely overpriced. The prices are even more outlandish because the quality of the kratom is unconfirmed. The company makes no mention of using third-party testing labs to test its products, and there are no lab results posted on the site. As such, you won’t be able to confirm the potency, purity, or safety of the products from this company before purchasing.

Green Leaf has amassed many negative reviews for inactive kratom, poor customer service, long shipping times, and general unhappiness with its products.

In addition, the return policy only applies to unopened packages, there is no customer satisfaction guarantee, and the company isn’t certified by the American Kratom Association.

As such, it’s strongly recommended that you steer clear of Green Leaf Kratom and search elsewhere for quality kratom that will provide the effects you’re looking for.
